From a one-room office to three generations.

  1. 1940

    Doors open in New Brunswick

    Louis Barrood founds Barrood Real Estate in a one-room office with his brothers David and Phillip.

  2. WWII

    Three brothers go to war

    All three serve overseas. Their father, William Barrood, keeps the business running while they are away.

  3. 1945

    Home again

    The brothers return and set about rebuilding and growing the firm.

  4. 1950

    A house becomes an office

    The family buys a house and remodels it into its new office.

  5. 1965

    50 Paterson Street

    A move to the heart of the New Brunswick business district, and a period of fast growth.

  6. 1973

    Easton Avenue, Franklin Township

    The main office opens at 700 Easton Avenue, with township resident David P. Barrood as managing broker.

  7. Today

    The next generation

    Barroods still run the business, led by broker Louis Barrood, alongside agents and staff who have become part of an extended Barrood family.
